Clipper has made some great improvements.  Wednesday, December 10th, Clipper 2 Next Generation launches.  Clipper users will immediately see new benefits such as a cloud based system, the ability to use contactless bank cards to pay for transit, and senior and youth applications available online.

If you have current Clipper card, you don’t need to do anything but use it.  Once you use it, the card will flip to Clipper 2.  If you don’t plan on using it soon, you can contact Clipper Customer Service at 877-878-8883 to convert the card.

Other benefits, once your existing card is flipped or you obtain a Clipper 2 card, are:
* When adding money on app or website, funds are available right away
* You can transfer balance from one card to another
* Free and discounted transfer between transit agencies within 120 minutes.
* One person can manage multiple cards like a parent managing their children’s cards.

The one difference you will see is that, when you use your card, you will not see the balance reflected anymore.  To check your balance, visit the Clipper app, look in your mobile wallet, visit to clippercard.com or scan it at a ticket machine.
