How to Ride the Bus

Riding the bus is simple, safe and enjoyable when you follow the following steps:

1. Locate on the transit map your destination and where you will be boarding the bus. Check the time schedule for the route you will be using.
2. Arrive at your bus stop at least 5 minutes early.
3. Make sure the bus operator sees you as he/she approaches your stop. Before boarding the bus, check the route number located above the windshield.
4. Have a punch pass, monthly pass, day pass or exact cash fare ready. Bus operators are unable to give change.
5. If you need to take more than one bus to arrive at your destination, ask for a Day Pass when you pay your fare and pay the appropriate fare.
6. Please reserve the front seats for senior citizens and passengers with disabilities.
7. About one block from your destination, inform the driver that you want to stop by either pulling the cord or pressing the bell tape once.
8. Do not cross the street in front of the bus.

How to Read Bus Schedules

Tri Delta Transit routes are listed numerically in the schedule and identified by the route number. Schedules indicate when a bus will arrive at major stops along the route. The following information provides basic steps to plan your bus trips:

1. Select the appropriate route number.
2. Use the section of the timetable that corresponds to the direction of travel (i.e. westbound/eastbound).
3. Only key points along the route are listed. Read the timetable from left to right.
4. Find the stop nearest your boarding location. If your stop is not at a time point, use the previous time point to determine when you should be at your stop.
5. Read down the column to determine the departure time.
6. Read across to determine the time of arrival and intersection nearest your destination.

Identify Your Bus

The direction and route number are displayed on digital signs located above the windshield. Make sure the route number on the bus matches the number printed on your schedule before boarding.
